Dronley Community Woodland
Scotland’s only climate education woodland
Dronley is a 50ha living laboratory. Local community volunteers and school pupils measure, monitor and maintain the forest using continuous cover forestry principles. Clear felling is replaced with low impact tractor & winch working. The woodland supports 5 part time jobs. This amazing team is led by forest manager, Dirk Sporleder. They map how the wood responds to climate shocks like drought, storms and pest outbreaks.

-
Planting and protecting over 2000 trees

Annual Maintenance of more than 7000 trees

Angus Outdoor Learning
Many young people in Angus feel isolated and disengaged from school. "Traditional" school settings often fail young people with additional support needs. We support groups of Mums & Sons and Angus Parent Peer Support groups.
These sessions build trust, relationships and understanding in individuals and the group. Conversations around the fire support engagement without the pressure of a classroom. Our flexible, side-by-side approach in nature allows them to engage with food, nature and leadership skills.
